Gone for a Few Days

Sorry I've been MIA. My in-laws are here and so is MY BEAR!! My Uncle's wake is tomorrow and the funeral Wednesday. I hope to post again Wednesday night or Thursday.

Today would have been my Uncle's 67th birthday. I thought it would have been nice to have burried him today. The other family members didn't think so. But that's alright.

But I want to say happy birthday to my Uncle Bobby!!!!! You were loved and I'm so glad you are no longer sick. I'm glad you are with your parents and your sister and my Daddy and your niece, whose kidney you carried for seven years. I won't cry for you. I've decided to celebrate you and your memory and to smile every Tater Day because I will forever assiciate it with you from now on. The parade and balloons? All for you!

I thought it would be nice if we could all share a favorite memory of a loved one (or loved ones). Something that makes us smile. I'll share this one of my Uncle with you.

When I about 3 or 4 years old, the entire family was eating at grandma and grandpa's house. All of the men were drinking beer and I wanted to know what it tasted like. My mother said absolutely NOT! I couldn't have a taste. All of the men, including my Daddy, wouldn't give me a taste of their beer because they didn't want to piss of my mother.

Uncle Bobby handed me his beer. LOL!

I didn't like it and gave it back. But he bucked my overly controling mother. He also let me sit on his motorcycle even though my mother said I couldn't.

He has never missed one of the kid's birthdays either.

He was my Daddy's best friend and THE coolest Uncle ever!

I'll see you in a few decades!!!

Peace Out,

I had an Uncle that would always designate a "prize" egg for the Easter Egg hunt. Finding it netted us 5 bucks - and in the late 70's for a 10 year old, that was big bucks.

He was a great guy to us. He drank himself to death in 1979. Of course, my aunt could drive Jesus to be an alcholic.

So sorry to hear of your loss and so happy you chose to celebrate his life instead of mourning his death. He sounds like the kind of guy that would appreciate that.
