Finding it Demeaning as a Woman

I realize that Michelle did not run for office. However, knowing that her husband was running for President does come with a set of expectations for her. She went into this cognitive and fully aware.

So I find it insulting and demeaning as a woman that when she is reported on it's all about the very expensive designer CLOTHING she is wearing and how she accessorizes. I'm not sure if the press is trying to turn her into a fashionista, which she definitely is NOT, or if she's trying to turn HERSELF into a fashionista, which she definitely is not.

By this time into their husband's Presidencies Laura, Hillary, Barbara and Nancy all had their causes and were using their position to further them. I mean, doesn't Michelle want to help end illiteracy or child abuse or teen smoking or childhood obesity? Hey! there's one right up her alley since she likes to work out and is suppose to be into health and all. She could start a campaign to demand HEALTHY food be served in public schools for breakfast and lunch. She could have the Frosted Flakes, chocolate milk, apple juice, Pop Tarts, sausage biscuits with gravy and fruit in heavy syrup replaced with bran cereal, low fat milk, real orange juice, and fresh fruit. Instead of lunch being corn dogs, fries, a cookie and strawberry or chocolate milk, it could be grilled chicken breast, steamed frozen broccoli, fresh fruit, and again, low fat milk. She could really push P.E. programs in the elementary and middle schools where they are being dropped down to once a week instead of daily like we did.

Surely there is SOME kind of charity or campaign that she has been actively involved in as an adult. I hate to think that she's spent her entire adult life shopping and blowing money on overly expensive designer fashions and jewelry. Especially since she isn't that good at it.

Peace Out,

You've pretty much answered your question. The press has to fixate on her fashion because there's nothing else about her to report on.

I think she's happy with just that.

"I think she's happy with just that."

And THAT is incredibly sad.

No substance.

Anger at America...her fashion sense...her "bootay"...

nada.

She doesn't represent me.

Charity? Nobamas? NOPE! If I remember correctly, their tax returns showed less than 1% charitable contributions. Disgustingly little. It's hard to think about others when you are so wrapped up in yourselves.

I can't be sure, but isn't Michelle Obama involved in the charity organization ACORN? Where would this country be without those thousands of fictional and dead people that are registered to vote Democrat?

Happy National Tartan Day!

Pinky, I'm not sure she's trying to represent anybody. I just know that planting a garden in black strech pants and a black tunic looking thing just shows how little gardening she actually does.

AA, less than 1%?! I thought that liberals were all about helping the little guy...especially the obama's. We give more than that and we barely cover our bills. And I shop for our clothes at a second hand shop to boot!

Mark, ha! ha!

They are fantastic at giving away OUR money, not their own.

AA, Yeah, I've noticed that. They're also fantastic at flying to Chicago for dinner with OUR money and not their own.
