Passion That Doesn't Play Out!!!

In honor of my and my Bear's 18th Wedding Anniversary ...
Well, sorta ... we got married on Leap Day!

Passion That Doesn't Play Out? Science Tells Us It's Real

Scientists have long comforted those of us plodding through the tedium that long-term relationships can become by telling us that passion doesn't last for anyone. Within three months to three years, it has done its job of encouraging us to procreate. Perhaps it has kept us together long enough for a child or two to be born. Then, task accomplished, it fades.

People then break up or they don't, and passion changes into something calmer. Researchers call it attachment. It's deep, persistent, comforting. It doesn't keep you up at night.

We believed those researchers. Experience confirmed what they told us. Usually. I have a friend whose fiery passion for her man was the kind that didn't need much foreplay. A bed, a couch, a table, a floor, a wall, a closet, a kitchen. Anyplace. Anytime. They were burning it up. The passion lasted eight years.

"Eight years," I squealed. "Who gets eight years?"

"Then it ended," she said, like I should feel sorry for her. I didn't.

And now it turns out that I have a lot more people not to feel sorry for. The scientists now say they got it wrong. Passion never plays out for a lucky 30 percent of couples.

Researchers discovered this when they put some young people who were recently and madly in love on brain scanners. The kids' brains lit up the screens with feel-good dopamine. Their brains looked like those of people on cocaine.

Then researchers did the same tests with couples who'd been married 20 years and claimed to be still passionately in love. These older couples' brains looked like they were on cocaine too, proving that they weren't just braggarts and liars, as everyone probably assumed. They really were passionately in love, just like the kids.

Where did they find these lucky couples? I certainly don't know any of them. If I do, they've had the grace to keep their mouths shut about it. Twenty years? I don't believe it. I think they were all on cocaine.

Well, I am NOT on cocaine!!! And I am PASSIONATELY in love with my husband!!! We've been together since December 13, 1989 (20 years, 2 months, 2 weeks, and 1 day) and I can honestly and truly say, "A bed, a couch, a table, a floor, a wall, a closet, a kitchen. Anyplace. Anytime." sounds good to me! In fact, I could add a few of my own. :P

Now, if we weren't separated by 1,200 miles on our anniversary we might could handle them all ...

Happy Smooching!

Great, a wonderful new defense for rapists...

Sexsomnia--Sleep Sex

...In 2003, Canadian researchers coined "sexsomnia" in a paper called "Sexsomnia--A New Parasomnia?" published in the Canadian Journal of Psychiatry as the name of a rare form of automatism in which people carry out sexual acts in their sleep. The researchers cited the case of an Australian woman who would walk out of her house while asleep and repeatedly have sex with strangers as an example of the condition. In the past three years, courts in Canada and England have acquitted defendants accused of rape who allegedly suffered from "sexsomnia," according to news reports.

So if some guy with "Sexsomnia" attacks me, and I beat the ever loving crap out of him, will *I* be charged with a crime for attacking someone who is "sick"? That's what I wanna know.

Peace Out,

How Often Should You Have Sex?

How often should you have sex? The multiple choice options: once a week, twice a week, 10 times a month, 200 times a year.

The answer: 200 times a year.

"If you have more than 200 orgasms a year, you can reduce your physiologic age by six years," Dr. Oz says, basing this number on a study from researchers at Duke University who surveyed people about the amount and quality of sex they had. "They looked at what happened to folks that are having a lot of intercourse over time, and the fact is, it correlated." Frequent sex helps prove that your body is functioning as it is supposed to. "But in addition, having sex with someone that you care for deeply is one of the ways we achieve that Zen experience that we all crave as human beings," says Dr. Oz. "It's really a spiritual event for folks when they're with someone they love and they can consummate it with sexual activity...seems to offer some survival benefit."

How Often Should You Have Sex

Now...where is that freaking husband of mine?!

***UPDATE***

Just happened to think that 200 orgasms a year lowering your psychological age by six years explains a lot of teen age boys.

Not Another Post About...

Yes.

It is another post about what I'm not getting.

Actually, it's a plea to my Bear.

I need IT.

NOW.

You teased me with the idea of maybe coming up sooner. And now I'm freaking out. Drive to your folks'. Stay the night. Then come up here. I realizing that begging sounds desperate and needy. But I AM desperate and needy. Right now you could just LOOK at me and I'm fairly certain I could have my first one.

Just IMAGINE what it would be like if you got up here, drive me to the other county, gave me some Budweiser and a couple shots of Padron...

Remember that night in November when I was screaming "****-**-******!!!" and you were pretty certain that the kids could hear? That night would look docile compared to what might happen. Okay, I know I was kinda freaky and it worried you at first...but DAMN! I don't play cards at night like you do. I sit around and think about sex.

And if you don't get here pretty soon I'm going to take that credit card number of yours that I have for emergencies and go shopping online for something pretty well hung that takes batteries. Then the kids will NEVER get to school again and I'll never want to make dinner!

Look, Ozfemme is getting some...

Barney is going to be getting a lot...

And even though neither have posted about it lately, I'm sure that Bookie and The Dung Beetle have had a few escapades in the last three weeks.

I'm begging...

I'll get on my knees...
