Burglary Attempt - Part Two

So there is nothing physical missing. But it's beautiful out and I want to open the house and air it out. However, I have to go pick the kids up from school and I'm concerned of who I might find when I get back.

I slept with a gun in my pillow case last night, woke up several times. You know I was all hyped up on adrenalin Sunday afternoon. Sure, someone in my house? I'd empty a clip in them to protect my kids.

But what if I froze up instead? What if I totally freaked and forgot about the gun in my pillowcase or the ones in the closet?

Or what if they're already in the house when we get back? I don't have a permit to carry a weapon. Am I to carry one now, "just in case"? Or what about when I'm working in the yard? Should I keep one on me in case they show up?

I always play this part of tough guy and yeah, I can handle it. Truth is, I've lost my sense of security. And there is no price tag that can be put on that. I'm sure it will come back in time.

For now, we're having a system installed and we'll be paying monthly premiums to have the house monitored.

Maybe than I'll stop feeling like a skittish long-tailed cat in a room full of rocking chairs.

Peace Out,

"I slept with a gun in my pillow case last night"

Sounds like a line in a James Bond movie....

They won't come back.

Put handwritten signs up on the door "I'm armed, asshole. Don't even think about it."
