Nolan Ryan Hutchins

I'm watching the debate last night and McCain talks about this woman who asked him to wear a bracelet for her son. He says the soldier's name. He mentioned another soldier, by name, that he also had a bracelet for.

Then Obama says, "I have a bracelet too." Cool! Unfortunately the bracelet means so much to him that he couldn't remember the name on it. He had to look at his notes.

Back in 2002 a vendor from eBay, from whom I'd purchased a few books, emailed me asking that we pray for a Marine who was MIA. We prayed several times a day. His body was found four weeks later. While his picture has been in the back of my mind, I can't remember the last time I used his name or even thought it.

His name was Nolan Ryan Hutchins.

I never met him. I never met his mother. I never even met the man who asked me to pray for him. But I remember his name. He was important to me.

Obama needed to check his notes. What a fool. A mother entrusted him with her son's bracelet. She asked him to make sure other mothers won't have to feel her pain. And he cared so much, it was so important to him, that he couldn't even remember her son's name.

That spoke volumes more to me than anything else from last nights debate.

I have four boys who want to serve in the military. I have a son who will be registering for the draft in 2 1/2 years. He plans to go to college and then serve in the Army.

If anything were to happen to him and I spoke to McCain and Obama, who would care enough to remember his name?

That's the man who should be Commander in Chief.

But that's just a mom talking.

this is how I see that..

McCain is an American hero, I will never NOT give him credit 4 that..

Not ever..

I would rather my president know his shit about the issues im worried about, such as the state of our ecomony..(or what remians left of it)...the health care crisis and children health and welfare protected, envoirmental causes and protected whats left of our planet, finding alternative means of energy...

At this time, both candiates are nervous, flustered..and want to make sure they come across as the best for the people.

When McCain shows off his shiney new braclett, that was all a ploy, propaganda..he had it all in his head what he was going to say...

I dont think Obama was planning on bringing it up. It is not part of any of the issues..to him those are private personal moments.

You cant expect good ole Mccain to recall every mother who has given him a braclet, talked to him about the sson she has lost because of thier reckless behavoir or came crying and asking why.

McCain took that moment to make him sound a bit more caring then he is.

Obama has met with and talked to hundreds of mothers who have lost a child in this "war"....and more mothers want him to get their kids outta there then to name drop at the debate.

McCain rehearsed this...

Obama was prepared on all things I wanted to know about..

Because holy shit, im scared shitless right about the state of affaris here.

McCain can go and retreat at one of his 7 homes, while millions of hard working AMreicans lost thier homes because our admistatration made it so easy for millions of jobs to be sent over seas...making us without our jobs..or health care..lots of amreicans lost homes because they cant afford health care, and in tunr were ill and cant pay both medical bills and house payments..sad sad sad..

McCain can be driven around in one of his 14 cars while many Amreicans have trouble making thier one car payment..

I want THAT guy working 4 me..

(i still love u even though i totally disagree with u..hehe)

Flip Flop Momma for a flip flop candidate :)

Obama agreed with John McCain 8 times. When the moderator wanted specifics on what programs they would cut due to the economic crisis...McCain said he'd implement a spending freeze on all but defense and veterans, Obama gave MORE spending programs, meaning he could not answer the question.

I don't know what debate you watched, but McCain said he did vote against a plan that gave tax breaks to oil companies while Obama voted for it.

You are caught in the hype flip flop momma and not listening to substance...you are exactly what Obama is counting on.

There's a theory that says when someone doesn't have anything intelligent to say...they resort to cussing.

Point: Dog.

Focus...please...

My cousin's 23 year old son watched one of his best buddies get blown up by a road side bomb just a few weeks back.

Who's gonna remember his name?! Who's gonna remember his FREAKING NAME?!

It could be MY baby in too short of a time.
