The price of gas is making the cost of traffic fines go up. A city in Georgia has added a "gas surcharge" to all moving violations and other cities are planning to follow suit, including Atlanta. Cops Slap Speeders With Fuel Surcharge I like what the Mayor said, "This is a self-taxing system. If you don't break the law, you don't pay the tax." It's a lot better than raising everyone's property taxes and it makes the people breaking the law pay the cost of enforcing it.
I'm going to crawl back into bed. I'm sick.

Hey, sounds reasonable to me. People need to take responsibility for their actions and IF they feel some pain for their breaking of a law perhaps they'll learn.
Shocking concept, I know.
As long as the cops don't go overboard with it...stopping people for one mile over and such.
Hope you feel better fast running mate :)
