Big California Quake Likely to Hit by 2037

LOS ANGELES (April 15) - California faces an almost certain risk of being rocked by a strong earthquake by 2037, scientists said in the first statewide temblor forecast.
And the news community wonders WHY we don't take them seriously anymore. Come on "ALMOST CERTAIN" that there will be a bill earthquake in the next...hmmmm...let's give it 29 freaking years. Know what, I could have perdicted this and I've no degree in science. And this is somehow newsworthy?
McCain Proposes Break in Gas Taxes
Gotta say, I like this. I'm all for letting the people keep their own money. Of course people say we need the tax to pay for all the government spending. Well, McCain's got an answer to that one as well. FREEZE GOVERNMENT SPENDING for a year. This may sound like a WOW to a lot of people in government, but to the rest of us peons it's a great big DUH! I mean, spending habits have to change when there isn't enough money to cover it all. It's been the way of life for millions of Americans for decades. Unfortunately it's not been the "way of life" for the American government and that's how we got where we are now. And it isn't Bush's fault. This has been in the making for a few decades now. So don't be stupid.
It's not because of the war in Iraq. It's $4,000 hammers and $10,000 toilet seats that have gotten us to where we are. It's a failing educational system that we continue to throw more money at (other countries spend less and do much better). The ship is SINKING. There's nothing left of it except patches. Time to let it go down and start off with a new ship, already.
It's the way we pay females to procreate while on welfare as a way of life. Don't. even. start. I see it every day and yes, people DO live off the system. And it IS a way of life passed down from generation to generation. And people have a choice to stay there or get out. Accept it and move ON already, people, it's a problem accepted as fact on all sides.
It's money spent on illegals (don't start on that one either, they cost us lots of money, including medical bills, and it's a PROVEN issue accepted even by the biggest liberals). We throw money at pork barrels (look it up) that benefit very few people. We'll spend $10,000,000 to save a species of mouse, but let a tax paying American die because they can't afford their prescription drugs. I ask you, when will the mouse pay taxes and earn its keep?
I'm not saying McCain has the answers. I think he's basically full of crap like most every other politician, but at least he's figured out that the best way to help Americans pay their bills right now is to STOP taking their money. That's all I'm saying.

I hate the news. Today's ridiculous story in my neighbourhood is that the father of a girl who was murdered 2 years ago, just came forward to say he was sexually abused as a child.
Uh...sorry to hear it, and all, but do we really give a flying fuck?
Can't comment on your political situation. We've got problems of our own!
You beat me to the McCain story ;)
crowder, what was this guy thinking? And why the need to announce it to the world?! I don't get it.
Batman, I am your running mate, afterall. I thought I should start living up to my title. You know, prove I'm worthy of the job.
