I was on my cell phone making a turn with my blinker on. Some girl rammed into me going 60. Now, statistically that accident is listed as cell phone related EVEN THOUGHT THE CELL PHONE HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH IT. I tell you this because I'm so stinking tired of people saying how dangerous cell phone use is while driving and it should be illegal.
Do you know what causes MORE car accidents than cell phones?
Smoking, eating, drinking (non-alcoholic), changing the radio station, turning to look at other passengers while talking (which is what this girl was doing when she hit me), having children in the car.
So when they make it illegal to smoke, eat, drink, listen to the radio, talk to passengers, have children in the car, you cell phone FREAK FANATICS can blow wind up my skirt about my phone. Until then SHUT UP! You sound IGNORANT!
Understood?
Good.
Now have a nice day.

Be careful what you wish for. There are 2 places in Canada that have already banned smoking in cars (when you have children with you).
Sorry K. I'm one of those ignorant shitheads screaming at people to get off their cells. Of course, I only want OTHER people to get off their phones. It's hard for me to dial mine if I have to worry about some loser who's driving eratically.
"Be careful what you wish for."
I concur...the powers that be are always trying to idiot proof society.
I actually agree with the no smoking in your car with children law. It has nothing to do with safe driving though. It's about the health of the children. People can argue the second hand smoke/cancer link thing all they want, but it is INDISPUTABLE that smoke makes it difficult to breath. I find it completely reprehensible to sit in a car with the windows up smoking with children in the vehicle. I've seen people doing this with INFANTS in the car.
I think it should be considered a form of child abuse, like holding a pillow over a child's mouth and nose.
I started smoking at age 13. I have NEVER smoked in a car with children or in a house with children even if the parents did it. I also sat in the non-smoking section of the restarant. Even in high school in my own car I asked my friends if it bothered them and only smoked if the windows could be open (unless they were smokers as well).
Stepping off my soap box now...
LOL. Don't forget applying makeup, changing clothes and fumbling around in a CD case.
I don't dig people who smoke around their kids. If you do it, fine. I smoke myself. I go outside to smoke if I'm at a friends house who has a child. I don't ever smoke in my car. I don't want my car to smell like a damn ashtray personally.
