Sorry my friend; I was rooting for the Giants. Although I nearly wept when Favre was intercepted for his sake. I hope he's back next year just so *that* isn't the last play of his amazing career.

Can someone explain why everyone says his name "Farve" instead of "Fav-re"?

It hurts my ears as a French-speaking Canadian!

He's from Mississippi (Old South). His Dad's first name is Irvin. I don't think there was much French influence there.

When he first came into the pro-football world, his name was pronounced "Fav-re". He corrected them and said it was "Farve".
